Hixson First Baptist family and friends,

We are very aware and up to date with the precautions and measures we should take to be a clean, healthy, and safe campus in light of the spread of the Coronavirus. We care deeply about our guests and our church family. We are all in this together as we show the world the difference between living in peace and wisdom rather than panic and fear. Our nation, our cities, and our communities need to see a church that is not ruled by fear, but by faith. We trust in a God who is in complete control. In this next season, The Church, and specifically our church, has an opportunity to be a calming, stabilizing presence in a world of fear, worry and anxiety.

However, we know this kind of news raises many questions and speculation regarding the next steps for Hixson First. Because we want to be prepared and thoughtful, we are being proactive in the following ways regarding how our church will handle weekend services.

With recent developments, our plan  is to cancel life groups and worship for March 15th.  We will issue guidance for future services next week.  Pastor Steve will be preaching live, online at 10:45 am.

Here are a couple of simple notes regarding what we are doing and what we are asking you to do in the wake of the Coronavirus.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

  • Stay home and watch Hixson First Baptist ONLINE on Facebook Live or our website at www.hixsonfirstbaptist.org

  • Prevent the unnecessary spread of germs in a large gathering of people by familiarizing yourself with these CDC and World Health Organization recommendations:

  1. STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK!

  2. WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

  3. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

  4. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

  5. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

  6. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

  • We want to make sure that our church family is safe and that we are meeting any needs that you might have.   If you have a need, please contact our church office @ 877-2467.  If you have to leave a message, we will be in contact with you soon.  If it is an immediate medical emergency, please call 911.

  • We are monitoring the situation and will continue to be in contact with you through facebook and our website, so make sure that you check them often.

  • Your church staff is here for you and we will be lifting you all up in prayer.
